Dessert Pot Luck Will Double As A Preview For Holy Land Trip

Pastor Greg Wismar of Christ the King Lutheran Church is planning to lead another special journey from Newtown to Israel later this year.

This year’s “Pastor’s Pilgrim’s Trip” will depart on November 28 from New York City and return on December 6. Included on the itinerary are visits to Jerusalem, Bethlehem, the Mount of Olives, and Nazareth. Special activities will include a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee and a cable car journey to the top of Masada, near the Dead Sea. Pastor Wismar has hosted many memorable trips through the years; this will be his 11th visit to the Holy Land.

A special informational meeting about the journey, called “An Evening is Israel,” will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 85 Mt Pleasant Road, Saturday, March 5, at 7:30 pm. Guests will enjoy a dessert potluck while viewing a video and slides that Pastor Wismar will use to present the outline of the November journey. The trip has a base price of $1,698 plus taxes and tips for the nine-day experience.

The travel group, as always, will include “first time” travelers, as well as people returning to Israel for a repeat visit.

Further information about the trip, as well as the March 5 event, is available by calling Pastor Wismar at the church office, 203-426-0651.
