Chamber, Rotary Kicking Off

Business Of The Year Balloting

The Newtown Chamber of Commerce and the Newtown Rotary Club will host a joint networking event on Monday, February 28, at 6 pm, at the Mona Lisa Restaurant, 160 South Main Street. Along with fostering relationships between both groups, this meeting is used to kick off the 8th Annual Newtown Business of the Year Recognition program.

Elizabeth Stocker Newtown’s community development director will be the guest speaker and discuss the recent updates regarding the Newtown Economic Development Commission’s business survey.

Over the next six weeks, nominations for Business of the Year in both the large and small business categories are welcomed from residents and business professionals. Every nomination form sent in will be entered in a raffle to win a bottle of wine.

The large business category includes businesses with 15 or more employees, while the small business category is for businesses with fewer than 15 employees. The winners of both categories will be announced at the Business of the Year Awards Dinner on March 28 at 6 pm at the Inn at Newtown.

This event is open to Chamber and Rotary members and anyone interested in learning more about these groups.

Anyone interested in attending the kickoff event is asked to RSVP to Alice Baye at 203-426-2596 by February 25.  There is no cost to attend.

Appetizers will be served and a cash bar is available.
