Lecture Examines 'The Da Vinci Code'
Lecture Examines âThe Da Vinci Codeâ
FARMINGTON â It is not often that a novel attracts the attention and creates the controversy that the 2003 publication of Dan Brownâs The Da Vinci Code did. Reviewed and dissected by church groups and literary clubs, the book became one of the biggest sellers of recent years.
The Village Lecture Series will present theologian Harold Attridge, who will offer a scholarly review of the authorâs theories in a lecture on March 6 at the First Church of Christ, 75 Main Street.
Harold Attridge is dean of Yaleâs Divinity School and Lillian Claus Professor of New Testament. An active Roman Catholic layman, he has been at Yale since 1997, coming from the University of Notre Dame where he was dean of the College of Arts and Letters.
The program, âThe Truth and Fiction of The Da Vinci Codeâ will take place at the Porter Memorial on Main Street, Sunday, March 6, at 4 pm. Adult tickets are $10 and children, $5. More information may be had by calling the First Church of Christ at 860-677-2601.
