Helen D. Schleiter

Helen D. Schleiter, 78, of 779-B Heritage Village, Southbury, died February 13 at River Glen Health Center. She was the wife of George Schleiter.

Besides her husband of 55 years, she leaves one son, Dr Gary Schleiter of Newtown; and one daughter, Gail Schleiter of New York City.

Mrs Schleiter was born January 4, 1927, in Richmond Hill, N.Y., daughter of the late Walter and Minnie (Breitkopf) Shellstron. She retired as a legal secretary and was an avid bridge player. She and her husband moved to Heritage Village 16 years ago from Lynnbrook, L.I., N.Y. She was a member of St James Lutheran Church.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 5, at 1 pm, at St James Lutheran Church, Peter Road, Southbury. There are no calling hours. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury.
