Harold E. Morgan

Harold E. Morgan, 86, of 12 Buttonball Drive, Sandy Hook, died February 23 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Margaret (Mountain) Morgan.

Mr Morgan was born September 16, 1918, in Danbury, son of the late Hiram and Helen (Qubick) Morgan.

He was a US Army veteran of World War II. He retired from the State Department of Transportation in Newtown after 28 years and also from the Newtown Village Cemetery where he worked for 24 years.

He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus at St Rose Church and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Southbury.

He was a lifelong resident of Sandy Hook who enjoyed fishing and was an avid Nascar fan.

Besides his wife of 57 years, he leaves three sons, Denis Morgan of Sandy Hook, Harold Morgan, Jr, of Rockville, Md., and Allan Morgan of Danbury; two sisters, Dorothy Trudeau of Sandy Hook and Beatrice Behrmann of Newtown; and five grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held Saturday, February 26, at 11:30 am, at Sacred Heart Church, Main Street, South, Southbury.

Calling hours are February 25, from 4 to 7 pm, in the daily chapel of Sacred Heart Church.

Burial in Newtown Village Cemetery will be in the spring.
