Free Lecture Series On Infertility

TRUMBULL — Andrew Levi, MD, a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist, and the doctors of Whole-Body Medicine and Whole-Body Dentistry, dentist Mark A. Breiner, and naturopathic physicians Adam Breiner and Bronner Handwerger, will be providing a weekly lecture series in March entitled “An Integrative Approach To Your Fertility.”

The lectures will focus on traditional and integrative approaches to both infertility testing as well as to advanced fertility treatment.

In recognition of March being National Endometriosis Awareness Month, one lecture will be entirely devoted to the evaluation and treatment of endometriosis, a condition which can cause both infertility and debilitating pelvic pain in up to 30 percent of reproductive-aged women.

Infertility affects approximately 15 to 20 percent of reproductive-aged couples and appears to be on the rise, according to Dr Levi. While many patients conceive after traditional fertility treatments, a large number of patients now seek the care of doctors specializing in whole-body medicine, which can include acupuncture, detoxification strategies, massage, and therapies that aim to treat the patient as a whole rather than simply targeting a single organ system. These therapies are utilized as adjuncts to traditional fertility treatments. Hence, the term “integrative” best describes the combined approach to fertility treatment when both traditional and complementary strategies are used in patient care, Dr Levi said.

These free lectures will take place each Wednesday evening during the month of March from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at 5520 Park Avenue in Trumbull in the main conference room on the second floor. The doctors will be available to answer questions immediately following the lecture.

As seating is limited, make a reservation by calling Whole-Body Medicine at 203-371-8258.

Lecture schedule includes Tailoring Fertility Treatments to the Individual Patient, March 2; Whole-Body Health and its Role Prior to Conceiving, March 9; Advanced Fertility Testing and Treatment — What is Right for You?, March 16; and Do You Have Endometriosis? — Diagnosis & Advanced Treatment, March 23.

Dr Levi is a fellowship-trained reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist who has been practicing in Fairfield County since 2002. He has received extensive training in advanced fertility treatments, including in vitro fertilization (IVF) and other advanced reproductive technologies.

Mark A. Breiner, DDS, a pioneer in the field of holistic dentistry, is the author of the book Whole-Body Dentistry. Dr Breiner has practiced dentistry in Connecticut for more than 30 years. He is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and a fellow of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology.

Adam Breiner, ND, the director of Whole-Body Medicine, is a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. He is currently serving as a board member of the Connecticut Naturopathic Physician Association. In addition to naturopathic medicine, Dr Breiner has advanced training in hyperbaric medicine.

Bronner Handwerger, ND, is a graduate of the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine. He is a specialist in natural remedies and has served as a panel member on the White House Commission for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
