Booth Library Is Seeking Teams
For A Battle Of The Books
C.H. Booth Library will host a Battle of The Books â a trivia contest based on four books â on Sunday, March 20. The competition will begin at 2 pm.
Young Adult Librarian Margaret Brown is accepting registration for the contest, which will pull its questions from Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix by J.K. Rowling, Hippolyta and The Curse of The Amazons by Jane Yolen and Robert Harris, Searching For Dragons by Patricia Wrede and The Wanderer by Sharon Creech.
Registrations must be received by Mrs Brown by March 1.
Young adults in grades 5 to 8 are invited to form their own teams of three to five players. Upon registration, each team will receive a complete information packet. The competition is open to students in all of Newtownâs public and private schools.
Players need to read all four books, become experts on each story, and then submit trivia questions on the stories to Mrs Brown no later than March 16.
Two prizes are being offered. The first place team will win a pizza party at My Place Restaurant, and the second team will be treated to a movie night at Edmond Town Hall.
The competition will consist of questions culled from those provided by the students as well as questions created by Mrs Brown, other employees of Booth Library, teachers, parents and other volunteers. Tie-breaker questions will be used if needed. A timer will keep the competition moving steadily.
Copies of the books and full details are available from Mrs Brown, in the Young Adult section of the library. Call 426-4533 for additional information.
