Young Torpedoes Make A Splash At Yankee League Championships

The youngest swimmers in the Newtown Torpedoes swimming program competed in the Yankee League Championships this past weekend.

Newtown finished fourth with 253.5 points behind Watertown (597.5), West Haven (366), and Bristol (254).

The 6 and under boys were led by Maximilian Luci-Bernard and Colby Harrell, who took the high-point total for their age group.

Luci-Bernard finished first in both the 25 yard backstroke and 25 freestyle events. 

Eight swimmers (Brandon Akbas, Emmi DeSousa, Tyler DiMartino, Colby Harrell, Rylee Harrell, Matthew Irving, Luci-Bernard, and Shayna Millard) qualified for the league all-star competition to be held in two weeks.
