To the Editor:

My name is Allison Blume. I’m just like any kid in Newtown. I watch American Idol, listen to Green Day on my I-Pod, and go to Reed School. But when it comes to what I heard and read about my basketball game last weekend, I was very serious.

I play for the Gaels. Last year I played for the Suns. The Suns was my best year, I loved everything about it, especially the coaches. I don’t know who would write such a mean thing about this sweet man, but I know for a fact that the Suns’ coach is a kind and wonderful man. He would never have insisted on breaking our love for the game. In my eyes, I see that the coach handled the situation extremely fair. I can only say that I love my old coach because he made basketball fun and taught me about sportsmanship.
