*JOHN VOKET will be returning to Mocha Coffee House in Sandy Hook on Saturday, March 4. Showtime will be 8 pm.
Next weekendâs performance, says John, will be the first of several âPaint the Town Purpleâ Fests which will help raise awareness and support for this yearâs Newtown Relay for Life, which will take place at Newtown High School on June 10-11. During each hour of his show next weekend, John will be personally donating $15 towards the cause and asking patrons to contribute up to a matching amount.
Tentatively there are plans to have a Relay for Life committee rep on hand to take the donations directly, and issue receipts when requested. John also plans to distribute purple Relay ribbons for donors to display at their homes or on their vehicles or other places to show their support for the activity.
*CHARISMA will be playing at âthe fabulously renovated,â says band member Kathy Buda, Elizabethâs in New Milford this weekend. Future books depend on having a good crowd show up this weekend, so fans of fun and good music may want to plan to attend the show on Saturday, February 25. Showtime is around 9:30.
Elizabethâs is at 7 Main Street, opposite the tank on the town green; call 860-354-4266 for details.
Until next week Iâll be seeing you... on the road.
