If you were going to compete in any event in the winter Olympics, which would it be and why? Asked to sixth graders at Reed Intermediate School.

Dominick Fedak: “Maybe downhill skiing because it’s fast and I like the snow.”

Scott Runkle: “I’d go for the downhill skiing and go really fast. I’ve got the need for speed.”

Andrew Fischer: “I would snowboard. It’s really cool and I’ve wanted to do it all my life.”

Colleen Durkin: “Snowboard the half pipe because I snowboard and ski.”

Colin Morris: “Hockey. It’s a really good team sport and also a physical sport.”

Emily Lones: “Figure skating because I do figure skating and it is just a lot of fun. You get to do a lot of twisting and spinning on the ice.”
