Hospitalâs 15th Annual Childrenâs Day Announced
DANBURY â Danbury Hospital invites children and families to attend the 15th Annual Childrenâs Day on Saturday, March 18. The event takes place from 10 am to 2 pm at Danbury Hospital, 24 Hospital Avenue.
Park free in Red Parking Garage, Locust Avenue entrance. Childrenâs Day registration takes place in the Praxair Cancer Center lobby located on the first floor of the Stroock Building.
The purpose of Childrenâs Day is to introduce children to Danbury Hospital in a nonthreatening way by creating a fun-filled day of events and activities while at the same time promoting preventive health and safety geared toward the unique needs of children.
Special events and activities include:
ŸInspection of an ambulance, EMS, and local police department vehicles, City of Danbury fire truck, Wellness-on-Wheels van, and STAT Flight helicopter from 11 am to noon, weather permitting
ŸTours of the Galante Pediatric Suites-Emergency Department, Radiology (X-Ray) Department, Duracell Center for Ambulatory Surgery and Pediatrics/Adolescent Unit
ŸThree, 40-minute performances at 10:30 and 11:45 am, and 1 pm by John Farrell, singer/songwriter/storyteller in the John C. Creasy Center for Health Education auditorium. Seating is free, but limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
ŸAmber Alert Child ID program courtesy of the Danbury Rotary Clubs in partnership with the Danbury/New Fairfield Womanâs Club (first ID card free, $2 each additional card)
ŸFree health education and screening including lead, vision, blood pressure and height/weight profiles, and blood pressure screenings for adults, too.
ŸSpecial booths promoting good nutrition and exercise, âAsk-a-Pediatrician,â child safety, and âLive Kids Karaokeâ with Spin Doctor DJ
ŸMeet hockey team mascots from the Danbury Trashers and Bridgeport Sound Tigers, face painting, and much more.
Danbury Hospitalâs 15th Annual Childrenâs Day is made possible by the generous contributions of local sponsors including the Danbury Public Schools, New Fairfield Press, Union Savings Bank, local police and fire departments, and many other community and civic-minded youth groups, businesses and organizations.
There will be a limited number of free giveaways while supplies last.
