Audi Into Wall
Motorist Ellen Resnick, 60, of Weston was driving a 2002 Audi A-4 sedan southward on Poverty Hollow Road and then made a right turn onto Hopewell Road at about 11:30 pm February 11, police said.
At the time, it was snowing and road conditions were slippery, resulting in the Audi entering a skid that caused it to slide off the right side of the road and strike a stone wall, police said. Resnick was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Sandy Hook Center
Police report a two-car accident in Sandy Hook Center about 4:15 pm February 15.
Motorist Stephanie Godfrey, 21, of 6 Wilderness West, who was driving a 2001 Saab 9-5 sedan northward on Washington Avenue, was making a left turn onto westbound Church Hill Road, as motorist Nancy Brady, 80, of 56 Mt Pleasant Road, who was driving a 1996 Buick Regal southward on Glen Road, was making a right turn onto westbound Church Hill Road, police said.
As the two vehicles were turning onto Church Hill Road, they collided. Brady received a wrist injury in the accident, police said. Police issued Godfrey a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.
Honda Vs Honda
About 3:30 pm February 16, motorist Judy DeBartolo, 56, of Bethel, who was driving a 2000 Honda CRV, stopped behind motorist Elizabeth Morrissey, 41, of 3 Spring Road, who was driving a 2002 Honda Odyssey that was stopped at a stop sign on Boggs Hill Road at its intersection with Sugar Street, police said.
The CRV then struck the Odyssey from behind, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued DeBartolo a written warning for following too closely.
