Rebecca Lynn Mascia to Joseph C. Ventura

Lois Mascia of Sandy Hook and Carmine Mascia of Port Royal, S.C. announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Lynn Mascia of Sandy Hook, to Joseph Christopher Ventura of Portsmouth, R.I., son of Mr and Mrs John R. Ventura of Westport, Mass.

The future bride graduated from Newtown High School in 1993 and from the University of Richmond in Richmond, Va. with a bachelor of science degree in health science. She is a research associate at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven.

The future groom graduated from Portsmouth Abbey School in Rhode Island in 1993 and from the University of Richmond with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and international relations. He is director of admissions and teacher of history at Portsmouth Abbey School.

A July wedding is planned.
