UConn Alumni Assoc. Seeks Applicants

STORRS — The University of Connecticut Alumni Association is seeking applicants for Alumni Chapter Scholarships.

The chapter scholarships will be awarded to deserving high school seniors who will attend the University of Connecticut as freshmen for the 2000-2001 academic year. Applicants are evaluated on four criteria: academic performance; financial need; awards and/or distinctions; and community service, extracurricular activities and/or employment.

Recipients of the scholarships will be notified in the spring and must attend the Awards Ceremony at the Storrs campus on April 17 in order to receive the award. The monetary amount of the scholarship will be credited directly to the recipient’s fee bill. If the student does not attend UConn for the academic year 2000-2001, the scholarship will be forfeited.

Applications must be received, not postmarked, by Wednesday, March 1, at 5 pm. Faxed applications will not be accepted.
