Teikyo Post University Appoints New Site Dean
BETHEL â Teikyo Post University announced the appointment of Kenneth R. Schiess as Associate Dean, Accelerated Degree Programs. Associate Dean Schiess will be responsible for Teikyo Postâs Fairfield County evening sites in Bethel and Trumbull as well as the Alternate Weekend Program at the main campus in Waterbury. In his new role, Mr Schiess meets with prospective students, hires and evaluates faculty and coordinates general operations for the three sites.
Prior to his current position, Mr Schiess taught for many years as an adjunct instructor at Teikyo Post while serving in senior management positions at several area companies and most recently, as a small business consultant. He is a member of the Danbury Chamber of Commerce and lives with his wife, Gina, in Oxford.
Teikyo Postâs Accelerated Program, geared toward the adult learner, allows students to earn either an Associateâs or Bachelorâs degree in half the time students spend in a traditional degree program. The academic year is divided into five eight-week terms and classes meet twice a week from 5:30 to 7:50 pm and/or 8:00 to 10:20 pm. Students can earn up to 30 credits in one year by taking two courses each term.
Students in the Bethel program can complete a degree in Business Management entirely at the site at Bethel High School in the Bethel Educational Park. All scheduled courses are guaranteed to run. Courses are offered to fulfill some of the requirements for Accounting, Integrated Business, Marketing, MIS, Finance, Legal Assistant, Psychology and General Studies majors; however, students take the remaining courses for these programs on the main campus in Waterbury.
For those who wish to take courses via the Internet, Teikyo Post University offers several online courses per term. To find out more about the online program, prospective students are encouraged to check out the Web site at www.teikyopost.edu. Degrees in Management Information Systems, Integrated Business, Management, and Criminal Justice can be earned entirely online.
