Marianne Malkin
Marianne “Mimi” Catherine Malkin passed away peacefully on February 22, 2023. She was 82 years old. A resident of Newtown, Connecticut, she was born in New York and had also lived in New Jersey and Florida.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, William Malkin, just last year. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Mary and John Thomas Hartigan, and a brother, Jack Hartigan.
Surviving her are her children, Lisa Sheridan, Ernest Lattanzio, and Lynn Yeager; her sons-in-law, James Sheridan and Dean Yeager; daughter-in-law, Liz Lacy Lattanzio; and her grandchildren, Emma and Avan Sheridan, Owen and Zaia Lattanzio, and William and Jace Yeager. She also leaves behind a sister, Lorraine Nonnenberg, of Freehold, N.J., and several nieces and nephews.
Mimi graduated with a degree in nursing from St Francis School of Nursing in New Jersey. She worked as a nurse most of her adult life, ending her career in Human Resources at DuPont in Newtown, Conn. In her retirement she worked as a Justice of the Peace, donating part of every wedding ceremony fee to the Newtown Animal Control Shelter.
Friends and family may call at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, on Saturday, February 25, starting at noon, with a Family Remembrance at 1 pm.
