The last thing anyone wants to do these days is be outdoors for live concerts, but Newtown Parks & Recreation is already well into planning its two series for the 2022 summer season.

Tuesday Tunes, done with C.H. Booth Library and sponsored by the Friends of the Library, will return to the Dickinson Park bandshell by late June. Concerts are planned for Tuesday afternoons, at 2 pm, and are suitable for young audiences with parent/guardian.

The schedule is as follows: June 28, Flor Bromley; July 5, Benanna Band; July 12, Vanessa Trien; July 19, Francine Wheeler; July 26, Steve Elci and Friends; and August 2, Al deCant and Jill Kubeck.

Evening Concerts

The Thursday Summer Concert Series is also returning to the town park.

While the performance lineup is still TBA, Parks & Rec employees have issued a Save The Date announcement for the six Thursdays from June 30 to August 4.

Concerts will run from 6:30 to 8 pm.
