Watercolor Demonstration

By Adele Moros, Feb. 27

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will host a watercolor demonstration by Adele Moros of Bethel on Wednesday, February 27, at 1:30 pm. Her subject will be a landscape.

The program is open to non-SCAN members and will be at Newtown Meeting House (lower level), 31 Main Street (at the flagpole).

Ms Moros is a multi-media artist with a background in advertising. Her work ranges from miniatures and murals to landscapes, florals and portraits. She has been teaching for twenty years. Her work is included in numerous private and public collections.

In 2000 she designed “Tiffany Cow” for CowParade New York City. The Metropolitan Museum has slides of the life-sized sculpture of a cow, which sold at auction for $60,00, in their permanent collection and uses them in lectures on Tiffany.

In 2002 she created “Jungle Gym,” an eight-foot tall giraffe for Stamford Safari. The same year she designed a faux stained glass Porta-Potty for Imodium’s “Urban Relief Project” in New York City. The Newark Star Leger described the piece as a “show stopper.”

Currently Ms Moros is working on several painting commissions and real estate renderings. She is also preparing a body of miniature paintings that will be shown at the International Guild of Miniature Artisans.

Reservations are not necessary to attend the program, but additional information is available by calling 426-6654.
