Fish Fries Returning

St Rose’s Annual Friday Knight Fish Fry, a popular event that has grown exponentially each year since its introduction in 2005, has returned for 2008.

The Knights of Columbus event began this year on the first Friday of Lent and is ready to resume for the fourth and fifth — February 29 and March 7 — in the St Rose of Lima Hall, 46 Church Hill Road, from 5 to 8 pm. All are invited.

The menu includes Yankee fried fish, coleslaw, fries, and soft drinks. Guests can dine in or take their orders home.

The cost of the dinner is $10. Children’s portions (one piece of fish) are available for $5, and kids can substitute macaroni and cheese for their fish. There is also a maximum charge of $30 for families (eat-in only).

Proceeds from the fish fries support the many charitable causes of the Knights of Columbus Virgilius Council 165. The men’s organization of St Rose participates in the AmeriCares program to rehabilitate housing for the elderly and needy. It also sponsors local food and furniture drives to help a number of shelters in the area, and co-sponsors holiday dinners for the community.

The chairmen of this year’s dinners are John Barry, Ron Kopcik and Brian Liotta. For additional information contact Mr Liotta at 270-3314 or BDLiotta@yahoo.com.
