Daffodil Days Support Cancer Research

The Leo Club at the Newtown High School is sponsoring “Daffodil Days” on behalf of the American Cancer Society. All money collected for the purchase of daffodils, giving a gift of hope, or a donation to the American Cancer Society will go directly to the American Cancer Society and is tax deductible.

“Bears and a Bunch” is a limited-edition stuffed Boyd’s bear and a fresh cut bunch of ten daffodils for $25. Potted daffodil bulbs, three multistem bulbs in a pot, are available for $15 each. A minimum donation of $20 supports the American Cancer Society’s many programs, and this Gift of Hope enables the Society to deliver bouquets of daffodils to cancer patients at health care facilities in the community. For just $10, a bouquet of ten fresh cut daffodils will brighten up anyone’s day.

The final day to order daffodils is Tuesday, February 26. Checks made payable to the American Cancer Society should be mailed with a from available at the Newtown Senior Center to Suzanne Hurley, Newtown High School, 12 Berkshire Road, Sandy Hook CT 06482, or drop off the form at the high school’s main office.
