Brian Recht, MD, Named Chief Resident
Brian Recht, MD, son of Carol Diem Recht of Tunnel Road, Newtown, and the late Richard Recht, was recently named chief resident at Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, Calif., for the 2007-2008 year.
Dr Recht received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2005 and began his three-year residency in Family Medicine at Natividad in July of that year.
Dr Recht began his premedical studies in 1998 at the University of Virginia. He later took courses at Yale University and Western Connecticut State University. Before entering the UofR School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2001, he completed a post-baccalaureate program at the University of Connecticut.
A graduate of Newtown High School, he received his BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Rochester. Licensed by the state of California as a professional engineer, he had worked in the field of alternative energy.
