Margaret (Popovich) Barriuso

Margaret (Popovich) Barriuso, 72, of Monroe, died on February 21 in St Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport.

She was the sister of Christine Samoskevich of Newtown.

Born in Bridgeport, she was a resident of Huntington and Georgia for many years and in Monroe for the last four years. Mrs Barriuso was a retired clerk for Sikorsky Aircraft and was the widow of Armando Barriuso.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Barriuso of Salt Lake City, Utah; two other sisters, Ann Saksa of Bridgeport and Pauline Meath of Monroe; a brother, Stephen Popovich of Waukegan, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Ascension Arribas of Monroe and Felicia Ares of Stratford; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on February 23 in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford and in St John The Baptist Canonical Church, Silver Lane, Stratford. Interment was in St John’s Cemetery, Stratford.
