JRA Support Group Meeting
JRA Support Group Meeting
BROOKFIELD â A support group for parents or caregivers who have children diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) will be meeting on Saturday, February 26, at 10 am in Brookfield.
Janet Dobos, a physical therapist who has worked extensively with children diagnosed with JRA, will be presenting a lecture on the effects of exercise on juvenile arthritis, and offer ideas for designing effective exercise programs for these children.
A recent University of Buffalo study has found that a carefully designed exercise program significantly reduces pain and increases ability to function. The study indicates exercise is a beneficial way for parents and children to manage the symptoms of JRA.
The meeting will be held at the offices of Karen Warhit, occupational therapist, at 777 Federal Road, Brookfield. For more information contact Kathy Colucci at 270-8541.
