Health Fair At Barnes & Noble

ORANGE — “Pregnancy: How Do I Know If I’m High Risk?” is the topic of a lecture and question and answer period to be presented by Phyliss Shapiro, MD, as part of a health fair at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 109 Boston Post Road, on Sunday, February 27, from 11:00 am to noon.

“There is much information in the media and on the Internet pertaining to pregnancy and the related problems a pregnant woman may experience in carrying a healthy baby to term. It can be confusing and often overwhelming,” said Dr Shapiro. “For example, there are many types of testing a woman may be offered before and during her pregnancy. The results of these tests may have ramifications on the mother’s health and the health of her baby.”

In this lecture, Dr Shapiro will discuss these and other concerns regarding pregnancy risks. She will also answer questions that participants present.

Dr Shapiro is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and has been practicing for 16 years. She has provided prenatal care for over 3,000 pregnancies and has been actively involved in the evolution of preconceptual and prenatal testing.

“We are now able to assist more women than ever before to prepare for and to experience a healthy pregnancy and the delivery of a healthy baby,” said Dr Shapiro.

The program is free and open to the public.
