State Rep, Lt Governor Hosting Opioid Roundtable
BETHEL — Rep. Raghib Allie-Brennan (D-2) and Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz will host an Opioid Roundtable to discuss the impact of opioid on families and communities across Connecticut and solutions for addressing this public health crisis.
The evnt is scheduled for Friday, February 22, at 9:30 am at the Bethel Police Department, 12 Judd Avenue.
First responders, law enforcement officials, local elected leaders, healthcare professionals, affected families, and representatives from local advocacy groups will be present.
“For the past 2 years, I have had the honor of serving as a board member for the Hero Project, a caring community working together to raise awareness through education and events about the need to resist heroin and opiate abuse,” Rep. Allie-Brennan said in a release. “I am excited to be joined by Lt. Governor Bysiewicz and others who have worked on the frontlines in helping to combat this epidemic as we explore ways in which we can support each other’s efforts.”
Rep Allie-Brennan's district includes several neighborhoods in western Newtown. The youngest elected state representative serving in the legislature this term, the lawmaker is Vice Chair General Law Committee, and has also been assigned to serve on the House Energy and Technology Committee, and Public Safety and Security Committee.
