SCAN To Host Shea Painting Abstract Landscape In Oils
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will present Roberta Shea demonstrating “Painting an Abstract Landscape in Oils” on Wednesday, February 28, at 1:30 pm, in the lower room of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at The Flagpole).
The demonstration is open to the public and admission is free.
Shea completed her formal degree in art education at Southern Connecticut State University, then taught art in public high schools and through adult education and after school programs. She has participated in numerous group and solo shows in both Connecticut and New York.
Her work is also found in private collections in Connecticut, New York, California, Illinois, Florida, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire.
Shea has won numerous awards in painting including from Washington Arts Association, Ridgefield Guild of Artists Juried Show, and the President’s Award from the Connecticut Women Artists in 2020 and First Place in 2021.
