The 2022 season of equine fun is underway with the Newtown Bridle Lands Association (NBLA). The first event will be a group trip to Sherwood Island State Park in Westport for a ride on the beach on Friday, February 25, with an alternative date of Friday, March 4 if necessary. The group is hoping to have both experienced and newbie beach riders participate. The riders will head out at 11 am in order to take advantage of low tide, which is the best time to ride because the sandbars are exposed. Participants must be NBLA members and will need to arrange their own transportation. If you are interested, e-mail newtownhorses@gmail.com.

On Saturday, April 23, there will be a walk only trail ride through Huntington Park in Redding followed by a lunch. NBLA members who would like to experience an easy, relaxed trail ride are encouraged to participate. Start time and location will be forthcoming.

It is a good time to join the NBLA as a new year of fun activities commences. Individual ($45), family ($75), and barn memberships ($125 for up to five riders; $30 per additional rider) are available. Visit nblact.com to join.
