Alexander J. Danka, Jr
Alexander "Al" John Danka, Jr, 64, of Sandy Hook died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 14. Mr Danka, known to some as "Rocky," was born in Bridgeport on February 5, 1953, to Harriett and Alexander Danka, both ofÃÂ whom predeceased him, his mother passing away just days before.
Mr Danka was an incredibly talented automotive technician, most recently managing his own shop in Watertown, Affordable Auto Body,ÃÂ with hisÃÂ son-in-law. In his spare time, he enjoyed visiting with family and friends who appreciated his unique humor, genuine laugh, and curious smile.
Some of Mr Danka's favorite hobbies were fishing, spending time at the gun range, tinkering with his many ongoing projects, and spending time withÃÂ his four-legged friends. He enjoyed and appreciated the simple things in life.
He was the type of man who would give you the shirt off his back. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Along with his dedicatedÃÂ wife Donna, his children: Alexander Danka IIIÃÂ and his wife, Trisha; KimberlyÃÂ McIntoshÃÂ and her husband, Jamie; Jason Danka and his fiancée, Laura Chinigo; Melissa Danka and her fiancé, Rob Door; Danielle Danka; MichaelÃÂ Sagnelli; and David Witkowski survive him. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael, Stephanie, and Melanie Danka; Kayla Gill; Emma and JamieÃÂ McIntosh Jr; Alyssa Danka; and Kaedince and Jacob Danka. Mr Danka's first great- grandchild, Julian, is expected this March.
The family will receive friends to honor both Mr Danka and his mother, Harriett, on Saturday, February 25, from 1 to 4 pm, with a service at 3 pm, at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (Route 67, across from Klarides Village), Seymour.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made in Mr Danka's or Harriett's name to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago IL 60611.
