John Pawloski will present his program âNature Photographyâ for The Garden Club of Newtown this month.
Non-members are welcome to join those in the club who will be attending the program, to take place Tuesday, February 24, in the Olga Knoepke Memorial Meeting Room (lower meeting room) at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street in Newtown. There is no charge for the program.
A freelance photographer whose work has appeared in numerous national publications such as Time-Life Books, Womanâs Day, Glamour, as well as many textbooks, Mr Pawloski taught earth and life science for 33 years in the New Milford schools. In the summers he worked as a field archaeologist and also taught special summer programs on geology, archaeology, wilderness survival, Native American studies and nature.
He is currently president of the Connecticut Antique Machinery Association Museum and director of the Connecticut Museum of Mining and Mineral Science.
His presentation will include the general aspects of photography such as composition, background, and lighting techniques, and will focus especially on clues to help the amateur photographer capture the essence of nature with a camera.
