Hunting For Newtown
Authors And Illustrators
The C.H. Booth Library is looking for authors and book illustrators who live or have lived in Newtown to add to its Newtown Authors & Illustrators Collection. A reception is planned for late June to honor this segment of the townâs literary and artistic community.
The library has representative work of 148 people in its Newtown Authors & Illustrators Collection, but would like to add any it has overlooked.
âWe know weâve missed some over the years, and I hope those authors and illustrators will contact me so we can bring the collection up to date,â said Reference Librarian Andrea Zimmermann, who has assumed responsibility for maintaining the collection now that longtime curator Caroline Stokes is retiring. âWe are interested in all genres and books for all age levels, including traditionally and self-published works.â
Authors and illustrators can contact Ms Zimmermann at 426-6848 or BoothRef@CHBoothLibrary.org. Or they are invited to drop by the library and speak with her in person. The library welcomes the donation of an authorâs or book illustratorâs favorite work created.
âWeâre very fortunate to have had Caroline Stokes initiate and spend 25 years developing this collection,â said the reference librarian. âIt is an eclectic community treasure that weâd love to expand.â
