Better Breathers Club Talk

On Avoiding Infection

BRIDGEPORT — A talk on “How to Avoid Infection” will be hosted by St Vincent Medical Center’s Better Breathers Club on Thursday, February 26, from 1 to 2 pm in the ETC Room on Level 3 of the medical center.

The featured speaker will be St Vincent’s infection preventionist Marjorie Keegan, RN, MSN, CIC, who will discuss the importance of infection avoidance for people with breathing problems and what strategies they can employ to stay healthy.

The Better Breathing Club provides information, resources, and support to help individuals and their families better manage their breathing problems including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis, chronic bronchitis, and asthma.

The club gives people in the community an opportunity to share experiences and coping tips with others similarly challenged by respiratory issues. A professional from a related medical specialty will discuss a different topic of interest each month.

The meetings are free and open to the general public. Free parking (with validated ticket) and light refreshments will also be provided.

For more information, call St Vincent/s Pulmonary Lab at 203- 576-5096.
