Shrove Tuesday Pancake Suppers

Shrove Tuesday pancake suppers are scheduled at several churches in the area on Tuesday, February 27.

 St John’s Episcopal Church in Sandy Hook will hold its 43rd annual pancake supper from 5 to 7:30 pm at the parish undercroft in the church on Washington Avenue in Sandy Hook Center. The traditional meal of pancakes, homemade corned beef hash or sausage, applesauce, and beverage will be served. Tickets, available at the door, are $6.50 for adults, $3.50 for children 4-12, with children under 4 free.

A Shrove Tuesday all-you-can-eat pancake supper will be held at the Danbury United Methodist Church, 5 Clapboard Ridge Road (Exit 5), from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Tickets are $3 for adults, $1.50 for children 4-12, under 4 free. Call 743-1503 for more information.

The South Britain Congregational Church on Route 172 at East Hill Road, Southbury, will hold its annual pancake supper from 5 to 7 pm. Tickets are $5 for adults, $2 for children ages 5-8, under 5 free. Call 264-5890 Tuesday through Friday from 9 am to 2 pm for more information.
