The team out-performed guards from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York in the Regional Championships. The Newtown Varsity Winter Guard was elevated to be among the top five winter guards in its class nationally.Â
The Winter Guard International judges noted that Newtown showcased excellent training on all pieces of equipment and that their show, True Colors, displayed unique visual effects. The flag silks gradually included more color until the show climaxed with a very cleanly executed ensemble flag statement that featured flags silks from across the spectrum of the color palette.
