Newtown Gymnasts Compete In Conference Championships

Gymnasts Leah Wallace, Jenna Calandro, and Meagan Foy, of Newtown High School, participated in the South-West Conference Championships at New Milford High School on February 10. All four girls compete in the four events: bars, floor, beam, and vault. Wallace earned All-Conference Second Team accolades for her efforts. Newtown High does not have a gymnastics team so the NHS girls did not score as a team in the tourney. During the regular season, they practiced and competed along with the Fairfield Warde gymnasts. The girls are coached by Kim Longobucco and assistant Bridget Fine.
