DUI Arrest
After learning that police held a warrant for her arrest, Kerry Perran, 44, of 4 Appleblossom Lane turned herself over to police at the police station about 7:35 am February 9, and was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and failure to drive to the right in connection with a December 2 incident, police said.
Just before midnight last December 2, Perran was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident near 87 South Main Street in which the 1999 Dodge minivan she was driving collided with a tractor-trailer truck, according to police.
In a lengthy complex extrication, emergency services workers freed Perran from the minivan in which she had become trapped. She was then hospitalized for treatment of injuries.
On February 9, police initially held Perran on bail, after which she was arraigned on the charges in Danbury Superior Court. She was then released on a written promise to return to court on March 9 to enter pleas to the two charges.
DUI Charge
Police said that at about 3:42 pm on February 9, they responded a report that there was an erratic driver traveling in the Huntingtown Road area, so they went there to investigate.
Police report that they found the vehicle in question, after which the gave motorist Charlene Vollmer, 36, of 103 Huntingtown Road a set of field sobriety tests.
Police said they charged Vollmer with driving under the influence and with making a restricted turn. Vollmer was released on $100 bail for a February 23 court appearance, police said.
Berkshire Road
Police report a two-vehicle accident on Berkshire Road near its intersection with Wasserman Way about 3:15 pm February 8.
Motorist David Johnston, 28, of 55 Copper Creek Circle, who was driving a 2002 Saturn sedan eastward, was traveling behind an eastbound 2008 Chevrolet sedan driven by Jeffrey Ward, 41, of Trumbull, police said.
The Chevrolet then stopped for traffic conditions, after which the Saturn struck the rear end of the Chevrolet, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they gave Johnston a written warning for following too closely.
Great Ring Road
About 11:22 am on February 5, motorist Marissa Lindquist, 18, of Monroe was driving a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta northward near 90 Great Ring Road, as motorist Elisa Headford, 39, of 72 Great Quarter Road was driving a 2008 Honda Accord southward there, police report.
The left exterior rear-view mirrors of the two vehicles then collided, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Lindquist for traveling too fast for conditions.
Moving Violations
Police report that after they stopped motorist Sean Dauber, 39, of Waterbury to investigate on Elm Drive about 11:55 am on February 4, they charged him with driving an unregistered motor vehicle and with driving with a suspended license.
Police said Dauber was released on $250 bail for a February 18 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Two Chevrolets
On January 25, motorist Michael Casey, 35, of 29 Buttonball Drive was driving a 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck southward near 34 Glen Road, police said.
The Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling behind a southbound 2010 Chevrolet sedan driven by James Johnson, 53, of Dayton, Ohio, police said.
The sedan then attempted to make a turn into a driveway and the pickup truck attempted to pass the sedan, resulting in a collision of the two vehicles, police said.
Police said they issued Casey a written warning for a passing violation.
Evading
Police said that after conducting an investigation into a two-vehicle accident on South Main Street, they charged motorist Meghan Sheehan, 34, of 10 Knollwood Drive with evading responsibility at about 6 pm on January 31.
Police said that they found the motor vehicle that had left the scene of the accident at Sheehanâs residence.
Sheehan was released on $100 bail for a February 15 appearance in Danbury Superior Court, police report.
One-Vehicle Crash
At about 2:27 am on January 23, motorist Rory Donohue, 29, of 37 Engleside Terrace was driving a 2006 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck northward on Botsford Hill Road, when the vehicle struck a snowbank along the right road shoulder, police said.
The truck then struck another snowbank along the left road shoulder, police said. That impact caused the vehicle to become stuck, police said. Donohue was not injured.
Police said they issued Donohue an infraction on charges of making a restricted turn, failure to drive to the right, and distracted driving.
Town Line
Police said that at about 9 am on February 4, motorist Lee Corbo, 43, of 165 Brushy Hill Road was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck southward on Huntingtown Road, near the Monroe town line, as motorist Lawrence Beninati, 40, of Easton was driving a 2008 Dodge Caravan minivan northward there.
Due to the presence of snowbanks, the road was narrower than normal and the two vehicles collided, police said.
There were no injuries. Police took no enforcement.
Washington Avenue
About 6:05 pm on February 9, motorist Hunter Dolyak, 17, of 17 Osborne Hill Road was driving a 2001 Ford F-350 pickup truck southward on Washington Avenue, as motorist Scott Ritter, 59, of Monroe was driving a 2011 Freightliner van northward there, police said.
As they vehicles passed one another, their left exterior rear-view mirrors collided, police said. There were no injuries. Fault for the accident could not be determined, said police, who took no enforcement action.

Vehicular Violations
About 7 pm on February 11, police spotted motorist Stanley Weston, 42, of Bethel driving near 5 Queen Street in a vehicle whose tail lamps were not lit, so they stopped Weston to investigate.
Police charged Weston with failure to have illuminated tail lamps and with driving with a suspended license.
Weston was released on a written promise to appear in court on February 24, police said.
Subaru Vs Dodge
About 5:26 pm on February 10, motorist Luis Paguay, 38, of 83 Main Street, who was driving a 1997 Subaru Impreza station wagon, was backing the vehicle out of the driveway at that address, as motorist George Bryce, Jr, 33, of Bethel was driving a 2005 Dodge Dakota pickup truck eastward on the street, police said.
The two vehicles collided. There were no injuries.
Police said they issued Paguay an infraction for driving without a license, and also verbally warned Paguay for unsafe backing.
Mirror Vs Mirror
Police report that Nicholas Caviliere, 23, of 90 Hattertown Road was driving a 2003 Ford pickup truck near 25 Taunton Lane, as James Psichopaidas, 54, of 106 Taunton Hill Road was driving a 2010 Ford pickup truck there at about 10:14 am on February 8.
As the two trucks passed one another in opposite directions, their left exterior rear-view mirrors collided, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Caviliere a written warning for traveling too fast for conditions. Police said they verbally warned Psichopaidas for failure to carry an automotive insurance card.
Intersection
A two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Church Hill Road and Edmond Road on the morning of February 7, according to police.
Motorist Tara Ferris, 40, of 5 Wendover Road, who was driving a 1997 Jeep Wrangler, was traveling southward on Edmond Road, as motorist Jonathan Watson, 68, of Ridgefield was driving a 2001 Honda Accord sedan westward on Church Hill Road, police said.
The Jeep entered the intersection to make a left turn onto eastbound Church Hill Road, but the two vehicles collided, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Ferris a written warning for failure to obey a stop sign. Police said they gave Watson a written warning for driving an unregistered vehicle.
Rear-Ender
Police said that while on duty at about 10:34 am on February 2, town police Officer John McCluskey, 50, was driving a town-owned 2010 Ford Ranger pickup truck northward on Hanover Road, near its intersection with Pond Brook Road.
McCluskey then slowed and stopped to investigate a snow removal matter, police said.
The Ford Ranger was then struck from behind by northbound motorist Timothy Hoeffel, 27, of 12 Old Green Road, who was driving a 2007 Ford F-350 pickup truck, police said.
McCluskey reported minor injuries due to the accident, police said. Hoeffel received an infraction for following too closely, police said.

I-84 Lane Change
State police report a two-vehicle accident on eastbound Interstate 84, east of Exit 9, about 6:35 am February 11.
Motorist Jay Meyerson, 52, of Danbury was driving a 2010 Ford Edge in the left lane of three lanes, as motorist Viktor Kuznetsov, 25, of Spring Valley, N.Y., was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Astrovan in the center lane, state police said.
The Chevrolet then changed lanes and collided with the Ford, state police said. There were no injuries. State police said they issued Kuznetsov an infraction for making an unsafe lane change.

Highway Accident
State police report that two vehicles collided at the Exit 11 interchange of Interstate 84 about 8:56 am February 9.
Motorist Charlotte Gill, 70, of Danbury was driving a 2006 Toyota in the left lane of two lanes and then slowed for traffic conditions, after which the Toyota was struck from behind by a 2008 Chevrolet driven by Anthony Pevornick, 61, of Oxford, state police said.
There were no injuries. State police issued Pevornick a written warning for following too closely.
Four MV Charges
Police said they conducted a routine traffic stop at about 11:35 pm on February 13 on South Main Street, near Blue Spruce Drive, during which they stopped motorist Ian Gingell, 19, of Monroe.
After investigating, police issued Gingell a misdemeanor summons listing charges of misuse of marker plates, failure to have automotive insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle, and traveling too fast for conditions. Police released Gingell for a March 1 court appearance.
Collision
About 3:55 pm on February 14, motorist Linda Fenn, 54, of Monroe, who was driving a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer, was waiting in traffic near the intersection of Mile Hill Road and Queen Street due to traffic congestion that had occurred after a motor vehicle accident in that area, police said.
Motorist Mildred Wakeman, 83, of Nunnawauk Meadows, who was driving a 2002 Toyota Corolla, failed to stop and struck the rear end of the Mercury, police said.
Toyota passenger Timothy Wakeman, 62, of Nunnawauk Meadows, reported knee pain and was treated at the scene, police said.
Police said they issued Mildred Wakeman a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
No Response
After learning that police held a warrant for her arrest, Ibolya Balazs, 65, of Danbury went to the police station on the afternoon of February 14 and turned herself in, police said.
Police said they charged her with failure to respond to an infraction, allowing a dog to roam, having an unlicensed dog, and failure to vaccinate a dog for rabies.
The charges stem from a September 2009 incident, according to police. Police released Balazs on $303 bail for a February 23 court appearance.
Button Shop Road
Police report a two-vehicle accident near 9 Button Shop Road at about 10:30 am on February 7.
Motorist Jennifer Kirkham, 34, of 46 Little Brook Lane, who was driving a 2007 Acura MDX SUV, was traveling on Button Shop Road and was approaching oncoming motorist Ronald Russell, 66, of 10 Loveland Drive, who was driving a 2009 Ford F-150 pickup truck, police report.
As the two vehicles passed one another, their left exterior rear-view mirrors made contact, police said. There were no injuries. Police took no enforcement.
