St Rose Offers Lenten Education Program
St Rose Religious Education will be offering a three session Lenten Adult Education Program entitled âTake an Inward Spiritual Journey â Turning Compulsions into Virtues.â The workshop will take place in the Msgr Conroy Room at St Rose School on three consecutive Monday evenings, March 7, 14, and 21, from 7:30 to 9 pm.
Offered by James R. Cook, a licensed clinical social worker, this interactive enriching program utilizes an âenneagramâ to help participants in a journey of personal and spiritual growth.
Each participant will discern his or her own personality type, with its vices and virtues, and how it affects oneâs relationship with God. This workshop provides an opportunity for attendees to move beyond self-centeredness to self-awareness. This self-awareness is then used to deepen oneâs personal relationship with God through contemplative prayer.
Another goal of the program is for each participant to appreciate the varying personality types of other individuals in their lives â family members, friends and co-workers.
Mr Cook is a psychotherapist who also holds two advanced degrees in theology. He has presented this workshop throughout the country to churches of all denominations, community groups, schools and corporations.
A donation of $10 for all three sessions is requested. Although preregistration is encouraged, persons are welcome to walk-in. For signup or further information call the Religious Education Office at 426-2333, or Ellen Curran at 426-0861.
