Watch Missing

Sometime between 9:30 and 10:30 am on Saturday, February 12, a lady’s gold Omnitron-brand watch was lost in the vicinity of 6 Queen Street, according to police. Anyone who finds the watch is asked to turn it in at the police station at 3 Main Street.

Drug Arrest

While on patrol about 10:30 pm February 15, police observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot at George’s Pizza and Restaurant at 1 Dodgingtown Road, so they stopped to investigate.

Police said they questioned the driver, Sara Tilford, 18, of Bethel, after which they found evidence and charged her with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

After processing, police released Tilford on a promise to appear in court on March 1.

Swamp Road Crash

Motorist Tracey Smith, 46, of 8 Bristle Lane was driving a 2000 Dodge Durango eastward near 32 Swamp Road about 5 pm February 10, when a deer ran out onto the road and collided with the auto, police said. Smith was not injured.

Toyota Off Road

Motorist Nicholas Harris, 17, of 95 Forest Drive was driving a 1986 Toyota Camry eastward on Edgelake Drive in Pootatuck Park about 10 pm February 11, when the auto went off the westbound road shoulder, struck a camping trailer, hit a wooden staircase and then went over an embankment, coming to rest in the yard at 123 Edgelake Drive, police report.

Harris was not injured. Police said they are investigating the accident.

Volkswagen Rollover

Motorist Aimee Clavette, 18, of 3 Fox Hollow Lane was driving a 1994 Volkswagen Golf northward near 117 Boggs Hill Road about 9:30 pm February 12, when while negotiating a curve in the road, Clavette lost control of the auto and went off the northbound road shoulder, police said.

The auto climbed an embankment, struck a utility pole and then rolled off the embankment, coming to rest on its roof on the roadway, police said. The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Clavette to Danbury Hospital for treatment of a hand injury, police said. Police verbally warned Clavette for making a restricted turn.
