Caregiverâs Course At Danbury Hospital
DANBURY â A Caregiverâs Course for families caring for individuals with Alzheimerâs disease or a related dementia, will be offered at Danbury Hospital. The Caregiverâs Course, sponsored by the Alzheimerâs Association, is free and open to the public, but registration is required as seating is limited.
Respite care is also available upon request.
The first session begins on Thursday, April 14, from 7 to 9 pm. Sessions will continue at that time on Thursdays, April 21 and 28, and May 5 and 12.
The Caregiverâs Course is designed to enhance the knowledge and the skills of spouses, adult children, friends, and other family members. Course topics include communication techniques, managing behavioral challenges, legal issues and dementia, available treatments, and much more.
Experts in the field of dementia care such as registered nurses, doctors, elder care attorneys, social workers, and physical, occupational, and speech therapists will present the course.
