Kristin Ryan, daughter of Patricia and Jack Ryan of Sandy Hook, is a recipient of the Deanâs Award for academic excellence at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y.
Kevin Fitzgerald received Deanâs List honors from Kingâs College in Wilkes-Barre, Penn.
Thomas Willard Ermini received Deanâs List honors from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven.
The following students received Deanâs List honors from the University of Rhode Island: Nicole Potucek, Amanda Reagle, and Heather Rebb of Sandy Hook.
Michael Compagnoni received Deanâs List honors from Albion College in Albion, Mich. In addition, Michael was recently elected Freshman Class Senator for the Student Senate.
The following students received Deanâs List honors from the University of Delaware: Michael Brill, Nathan Daniel Gaines and Jessica Eileen Oswald, all of Sandy Hook; Kelly Anne Conant, Megan Sue Johnston, Adam Gregory Konneker, Erin Michelle McDonald, and Alana Michelle Brier.
Christian Villodas, son of Anthony and Carol Villodas, was named to the Deanâs List at Fairfield University. An English and Political Science major, Christian was an active member of the Debate Team, Honors program, Sigma Tau Delta, Pi Sigma Alpha and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Societies. He is currently studying at Oxford University in England.
Pvt Carl Berquist recently completed basic infantry combat training at Fort Benning, Ga. He chose to join the Army during his junior year at Newtown High School under split option program with parental permission. After graduating from Newtown High School this May, Carl plans to return to Fort Benning for his advanced individual training (AIT). He plans to pursue a career in criminal justice and become a police officer.
Matthew Donigian of Sandy Hook received a bachelor of science degree from Springfield College in Springfield, Mass.
Catherine Maher received Facultyâs Honors at Trinity College in Hartford. To earn this honor, a student must achieve a semester grade point average of at least 3.6 with no individual letter grade below a B-minus.
Brandon Roumanis, Brett Eastman, and Adam Moskowitz earned Deanâs List honors from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.
Michael LaPerch received Deanâs List honors from John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio.
Teresa Taylor of Sandy Hook was recently selected to participate in the National Young Leaderâs Conference (NYLC) in Washington, D.C., February 22 â27. This yearâs theme is âThe Leaders of Tomorrow Meeting the Leaders of Today.â Teresa will interact with a variety of personnel who operate within the three branches of government, the news media, and the international community.
