Allan            Fiorey

Allan Fiorey, 62, beloved husband of Sue (Scoggins) Fiorey of Newtown, died February 11 in Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, New York City.

Mr Fiorey was born in Rochester, N.Y., on February 20, 1942, a son of the late Louis and Emma (DeMuzio) Fiorey. He attended Lawrence Academy and Ohio Wesleyan University, and was a member of the National Guard. Mr Fiorey was retired from The Hartford Insurance Company after 28 years and was the owner of Fiorey & Associates, LLC. He had been a resident of Newtown for 24 years.

Mr Fiorey spent many hours watching his beloved Yankees. He loved cooking for friends and family and he specialized in Italian pasta and sauces. He was a great reader, philosopher, and teller of jokes and stories. He particularly loved being a father to his daughter, Emily, and he participated in her many activities as a chaperone and driver.

He will be remembered as a truly wonderful husband, father, brother, and cousin, a great friend to many and as “Uncle Al” to the children and godchildren who loved him.

In addition to his wife of 24 years, Al is survived by his daughter, Emily Suzanne Fiorey of Newtown; a sister, Virginia Sinclair of El Paso, Texas; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. The family is very grateful to all his medical caregivers, especially Dr Peter Licht and Dr Steven Brandwein.

Funeral services were held on February 16 in Trinity Church, Newtown. Interment followed in the Trinity Church Memorial Garden.

The family has requested that donations be made to Newtown Ambulance Association, PO Box 344, Newtown CT 06470, or Columbia Presbyterian Center for Liver Disease, 622 W 168th Street, New York NY 10032.
