Joseph R. Christiano III, 21, of Bethel died February 11 at his home. Born in Danbury, July 21, 1992, Joe graduated Newtown High School in 2010 and attended Naugatuck Community College, where he was pursuing a career in computer science.

His parents Florence M. (Pokorny) Christiano of Bethel and Joseph R. Christiano, Jr, of Newtown; younger sister Melissa Christiano of Bethel; paternal grandfather Joseph R. Christiano, Sr; uncles Scott Christiano, Tony, Joe, and Frank Pokorny; and many cousins survive Joe.

A Yankee fan, fisherman, and sports enthusiast, he earned a junior black belt in karate at the age of 12 and supported his soccer team as a defender and goalie for many years. With his infectious smile, Joe will be best remembered as a happy, loving kid, and devoted son and brother.

The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, Tuesday, February 18, from 5 to 8 pm.
