Jerry Richard Stob, 76, of Jenison, Mich., died February 16.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Sandra (Van Dam); children Sharon Mathews and David Smith of Newtown, and Lynda and David Bakker, Jay and Nancy Stob, Barbara and Joseph Betlejewski, Dawn and Peter Spencer, and Larry and Laura Stob, all of Michigan; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings Karl and Marian, Marilynn Rice, Mary Ann, Bill and Sandy, Jim and Mary, and Pete and Maggie. A granddaughter, Erika; brother, John; and brother-in-law, Bill Rice, preceded him in death.

Mr Stob proudly served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Boxer CVS-21. He was blessed with a strong work ethic and retired after 37 years as a truck driver.

He was a devoted husband, dad, and grandpa who treasured his family. A man of faith and character, Mr Stob always put the needs of others before his own.

Funeral services will take place Wednesday, February 19, at 11 am, at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Drive SW, Grandville, Mich., with Rev Arnold VanBeek officiating. Relatives and friends mat meet the family Tuesday, February 18, from 5 to 8 pm, and Wednesday, February 19, from 10 to 11 am, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Holland.
