Cedric Carmichael

Cedric Carmichael, 92, of Milford died February 11. He was born in Milford, May 13, 1921, in the old Stockade House when it was used as the first Milford Hospital. He was the son of Estella and Russell Carmichael.

His loving wife of 67 years, Ann Chadwick Carmichael; three daughters and their husbands, Susan and Tony Gimbut of Sandy Hook, Nancy and Paul Brown of Brooks, Maine, and Joanne and Tom Bradbury of East Hampton; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren survive Mr Carmichael.

Mr Carmichael was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1939, and Bucknell University, Class of 1949. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy from 1942 to 1945.

He retired from the Norden Division of United Technologies Corp as manager of cost accounting in 1983.

Mr Carmichael was a lifelong member of The United Church of Christ in Devon, where he was a 50-year member of the church choir, Tuesday Niters Organization, and served as church treasurer for 14 years.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will take place at The United Church of Christ in Devon, 30 Ormond Street, Milford, Saturday, February 22, at 11 am. Internment will be at the convenience of the family.
