Reginald G. Lewis, Sr, 84, of Oakville, died February 9, at his home. Mr Lewis was born January 24, 1928, in Southbury, son of Fanny (Vogelbach) and Myron Lewis.
He grew up in Southbury and resided in Oakville for the past ten years, previously living most of his life in Sandy Hook.
He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows, Mechanicsâ Lodge, and also Good Shepherd Lodge in New Milford. Being a carpenter by trade, Mr Lewis retired from Church Hill Builders in Woodbury, and worked most of his life with his brother, Elmer, in Bethel. He also enjoyed woodworking.
He leaves two sons, Reginald G. Lewis, Jr, and Michael I. Lewis, both of Oakville; three daughters, Brenda A. Coffin, and her husband Stephen, of Danbury, Rosemary A. Stevenson, and her husband Jeff, of Danbury, and Lisa Mae Yurtsever of North Syracuse, N.Y. A brother, Elmer Lewis, and his wife Lucille, and sisters Helen Jurgens of Oxford, Doris E. Lewis and Betty Chapman, both of Southbury, and Inez Ely, and her husband Dwight, of Ladson, S.C., also survive Mr Lewis, as does a sister-in-law, Grace Lewis; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service took place February 14.
