Police report a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Queen Street and Glover Avenue about 8:09 pm on February 14.
Motorist Gabriel Barbara, 23, of Bethel, who was driving a 2007 Toyota Yaris hatchback eastward on Glover Avenue, failed to stop at a stop sign at that roadâs intersection with Queen Street, resulting in a collision with motorist Donald Bashak, 56, of 49 Bennetts Bridge Road, who was driving a 2000 GMC Denali SUV southward on Queen Street, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Barbara an infraction for failure to obey a stop sign.
Car Vs Tree
Police said motorist Clarence Smith, 51, of Hamden was driving a 2009 Hyundai Sonata sedan eastward on Church Hill Road, near its intersection with Queen Street, about 11:30 pm on February 13, when he fell asleep at the wheel, and went off the right side of the road, striking a tree.
Smith reported pain, but refused ambulance transport to a hospital, police said. Hook & Ladder firefighters responded to the accident.
Police said they gave Smith an infraction for making a restricted turn.
