The Connecticut Chapter of the Alzheimerâs Association is sponsoring free educational seminars for individuals and families in the community that will provide important information and discuss the skills needed to care for persons with memory loss.Â
The four-part training program will be held at Masonicare at Newtown, 139 Toddy Hill Road.
The seminars will be held on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. A complimentary light supper, provided by Masonicare at Newtown, will be served at 5:30 pm.Â
Dates and topics for the Wednesday evening seminars are as follows:
February 22 â Overview of Alzheimerâs Disease and Research with Jonathan Woodhouse, clinical neuropsychologist, Associated Neurologists, PC.Â
February 29 â Family Dynamics: Keeping the Caregiver Healthy with Carrie Effinger, MSW.
March 7 â Communication Techniques / Identification of Behavioral Challenges with Patty OâBrien, north central regional director, Alzheimerâs Association.
March 14 â Legal and Financial Issues with Julia M. Brown, certified elder law attorney.
