A New Awakening: St Rose Of Lima To Host Lenten Retreat

Monsignor Robert Weiss, the Reverend Ignacio Ortigas, the Reverend Luke Suarez, and the deacons of St Rose of Lima Roman Church in Newtown will deliver “A New Awakening,” a series of presentations, February 27 to March 1. The series will help attendees establish, restore, or deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ during this season of Lent.

The retreat will include morning sessions at 9 and evening sessions at 7, all to be conducted at the church, 46 Church Hill Road. The morning sessions will include daily Mass. All are invited to attend all or any of the presentations.

Themes are as follows: Monday, February 27, for the morning session, Father Ignacio Ortigas will speak about “God’s Love”; and for the evening session, Deacon Don Naiman will present “Salvation”;

*Tuesday, February 28, morning session, Father Luke Suarez, “New Life”; evening, Monsignor Bob Weiss, “Receiving God’s Gift”;

*Wednesday, February 29, morning session, Deacon Norm Roos, “Empowerment”; evening session, Deacon Dan O’Connor, “Singing in the Reign”;

*Thursday, March 1, morning session, Mr Ken Adams, “Transformation in Christ”; and for the final evening session, Father Lawrence Carew will lead “God’s Healing Love — The Mass.”
