Dr Murphy explained that the hospital has reached a higher level of performance that is drawing more patients to seek care from a broader geographic region.

“We anxiously await approval for our new Outpatient Diagnostic Center, which will house physician and hospital services in a convenient outpatient center with expanded parking located near the hospital,” Dr Murphy added.

Once again in 2005, Danbury Hospital provided substantial community benefit in support of its not-for-profit mission, according to Dr Murphy.

“This year, the hospital and its affiliated organizations provided more than $53.1 million in community benefit, ranging from charity care and preventive and educational programming to services devoted to those least able to pay for them,” he said. “We also collaborated with other community agencies to create expanded community-based substance abuse programs. Through our Corporate Health Care program and its corporate outreach initiatives, we are working to promote a healthy economy by maintaining a viable, productive workforce.”
