Newtown resident Amanda LaPorta received high honors for the second marking period at Canterbury School. Meridith Palo received honors recognition for the second marking period at Canterbury School.

Mallory Gillen McQuail received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Delaware on January 7.

Kelly Conant and Meredith Schlesinger of Sandy Hook have been placed on the dean’s list at University of Delaware for the fall semester.

Catherine Eaton has been placed on the dean’s list at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. Catherine is a junior majoring in human development in Virginia Tech’s College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

Lisa Masella, a senior majoring in communications, has been placed on the dean’s list for the fall semester at Western New England College in Springfield, Mass. Christopher Perry of Sandy Hook also made the dean’s list for the fall semester at Western New England College. Christopher is a senior majoring in sports management.

Christopher Wolcott of Sandy Hook has been placed on the dean’s list for the fall semester at Franklin Pierce College, Rindge, N.H. Mathew Miller of Sandy Hook has been placed on the dean’s honor list for the fall semester at Franklin Pierce College. Mathew is a sophomore.

Annamalai Murugappan of Sandy Hook graduated at the close of the fall semester from Wichita State University. Annamalai graduated with an industrial engineering master of science degree.

Brittany Boyle has been placed on the dean’s list at Northeastern University for the fall semester.

Kathleen Studley, the daughter of Margaret and Donald Studley, a freshman at Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y., participated in Hartwick’s January Term Off Campus program in New York City. The course teaches about the basic elements of theater in an on-campus course, then students spend a week in the city and attend several plays, tour important theater sites, and meet with theater professionals.

Kathleen Mary Maloney, daughter of Mary and Kevin Maloney, was named to the dean’s list at Fairfield University for the fall semester. An art major, Kathleen is also active in the student senator association, is chairperson of the Asian Student Association, a writer for the school newspaper, and a member of Circle K, a community service group.

John Polchowski was placed on the dean’s list at Fairfield University for the fall semester. John is a marketing and economics major.

Heidi Ekstrom, a sophomore majoring in business administration at Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I., has been placed on the dean’s list for the fall semester.

John Giannettino of Sandy Hook has been placed on the dean’s list at the University of Massachusetts for the fall semester. John is enrolled in the college of liberal arts.

Wendy Borst of Sandy Hook has been placed on the dean’s list for the fall semester at Temple University in Philadelphia.

The University of Hartford announced that Jonathan Silver and Justin Potter have been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester.

Jessica Gaddis was named to the dean’s list at State University of New York at New Paltz for the fall semester. Jessica is a freshman majoring in visual arts.

Catherine Fedorchek, Christina Dolzall, Nina Palazzo, and Michelle Robertson were all named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Sacred Heart University.

Larisa Zaleta has been placed on the dean’s list at Providence College for the fall semester.

Jennifer Dunseith has been placed on the dean’s list at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, N.Y., for the fall semester.

Alexandra Gellert and Allison Klein, both public relations majors at Syracuse University, have been placed on the dean’s list for the fall semester. Sandy Hook resident Jessica Horvath, a junior majoring in newspaper journalism at Syracuse, has also been placed on the dean’s list for the fall semester.
